President of Texas, Count Tejas-Brazos of Resvernas, Earl of Driftmark, etc. etc.
Unlike most dynastic houses, where the head is either the highest ranking member or the eldest, House Greene of Penberry follows the election of the Presidency of the Republic of Texas, providing that a dynast wins the election. In Texas, elections are held every ten years, and a member of the Greene family has won the past six elections. In the event that a dynast fails to win election to the Presidency, the title will adhere to absolute primogeniture until or unless a member of the family once again becomes President.
James Velaryon, third and youngest son of King Anson II. Choosing to forge an independent identity, he petitioned the King and was granted right to found a cadet branch of the ruling Dynasty of Penberry. Following the untimely death of his wife, Gwendolyn Duchess of Bywater, James and his family moved to the now independent Republic of Texas, where his children would be more free to follow their chosen path: politics.
Austin Greene was elected as the Fifth President of Texas. Following a family conference, the dynastic rights were passed to him as the highest ranking member of the family. He was subsequently created the non-hereditary Count Tejas-Bonnell by his cousin, King Grealind.
The Texas Presidency is a single ten year term. When elections were held, the entire family put their efforts behind Austin's older brother, Samuel, who became the Sixth President of Texas. He was created the non-hereditary Count Tejas-Pedernales by his cousin, King Grealind. The family also adopted, with the blessing of the crown, the proviso binding of the Lairdship to the Presidency of Texas.
Austin's son, Caffrey, succeeded his uncle and became Seventh President of Texas. He was created the non-hereditary Count Tejas-Comal by King Grealind. Caffrey married the younger daughter of King Grealind, cementing the family's ties to the Kingdom of Resvernas.
Samuel's son, Paul, succeeded his cousin and became Eighth President of Texas. He was created the non-hereditary Count Tejas-San Marcos by Queen Phoebe. Paul married Florence, Duchess of Hightower, and his son has since become the Duke of Hightower, thus eliminating his successors from consideration for future position within the House.
The eldest son of Caffrey and Princess Athena, Nicholas was elected to the Presidency and was also created the non-hereditary Count Tejas-Monclova by his aunt, Queen Phoebe.
Nicholas' brother, Harold, was elected to the Texas Presidency and was also created the non-hereditary Count Tejas-Brazos by his cousin, King Grealind II.
